MEMBER OF PASQUOTANK MINISTER'S COUNCIL ON EDUCATION
This council is representative of area churches in our community, ECPPS school personnel and school board, and other organizations that have a strong interest in the well-being of our school district.
SHEEP-HARNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Blackwell has adopted Sheep-Harney Elementary School. We support the teachers and students by taking a strong interest in their school need sthrough prayer, financial support, volunteering, and encouraging the staff in their endeavors.
We participated inthe Stop Hunger Now event. The goal was to package 100,000 meals. On Nov 20, 2016 area churches, civic, education, and business organizations met to fulfill this mission. We will participate again on November 19, 2017 in the RISE AGAINST HUNGER program to package 125,000 meals in three hours with 500-600 community volunteers.
Blackwell has a tradition of participating in the Walk For Hunger, sponsored b the Albemarle Food Bank, each October.
The Loft is a youth ministry that reaches out to the community to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with today's youth.
ROOM IN THE INN
Blackwell is one of the rotating churches housing the homeless during the coldest six weeks of the year. We will take our weekly turn housing and providing nourishment in the coming months.
